Forever Fringed

Every so often, I come across a trend that I just cant let go of, even when it is considered "over" I will still be wearing it.  Fringing is going to be one of these trends.

Fringerd jackets, bags, necklaces, shoes, shorts, leggings....ITS ALL OUT THERE....there is no point in me linking this post to one specific site, just try all the usuals, topshop, Urban outfitters, ASOS.com.

The best thing about it, is the DIY aspect.  I am always broke, to the point where sometimes I cannot buy any clothes and have to recycle.  This is where fringing is perfect.  I probably have over 100 old t shirts lying about, and if like me your a T shirt girl its sooooo easy to fringe it yourself.  Heres how I do it....

1.  Firstly, put the T-shirt on and make a small mark in pencil or pen if you dont care at the lenght u want the T-shirt stop and fringe to begin.  Do this so that you dont end up with the tee too cropped and the fringe showing bits of your stomach your not willing to show.

2.  Lay the T shirt out as flat as possible on a hard surface like a wooden floor. (carpet will not keep the t shirt flat and just gets in the way as the fabric clings to it).

3.  Find the mark you made and with a ruler continue it along both sides of the Tee to make sure all your fringing is the same lenght.

4.  With any kind of household scissors start at the side of the tee and cut up to the line you have made.  I HIGHLY recommend making each cut approx half an inch from each other.  This is because when you wash the t shirt the little pieces of cut fringing will curl in on each other and become very thin and stringy.

5.  Continue this until both sides of the Tee are done, dont be too fussy about cutting in straight lines etc as it wont matter once it is washed and they curl in, the only thing you need to worry about is sticking to the line you have drawn.

Heres my first attempt I did a few weeks ago in my friend Joys bedroom because i had no top to wear out.  Try cutting the sleeves off to make it feel less like a T-Shirt.

Also, heres my new fave necklace...from H &M for £6.99

Lily Aldridge is the one

Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge is one of my top five favourite models at the minute.  Lily has recently been approriately named the face of the new Victoria's Secret sexy little bride collection, which you may think is limited to brides only, but is nice enough to buy any time if your a lingerie fanatic.
Watch this video for more info on the collection.

Last Thursday Lily became Mrs KOL, (Im not jealous at all) she married Caleb Followill from Kings of Leon in a custom made strapless Vera Wang dress.  THIS GIRL HAS THE BEST LIFE.

If you think you might love Lily as much as i do then click here to see her 'Today im wearing' feature for VOGUE.COM.  Truly amazing.

YAYER.CO.UK

Amazing new find!!!! Finally an online site that is gorgeous AND cheap, not to mention styled to perfection.  I love absolutely EVERY single look.  Yayer.co.uk is simple to use, the clothes are divided into New, modern or vintage, before being divided into dress, top, skirt etc, easy.  The line is just a baby, born in 2009,  which would explain the overflow of trendy.

Every look is styled to perfection and so on trend, including hair, make up and accessories.  There are dresses from £35, and if you ask me, they have a step up on Topshop at the minute.  Think of Topshop prices with Urban Outfitters designer.  Perfect!

Im ordering my first piece tonight so I will update everyone on the quality.

Go see...Click here.

Paper Crown by Lauren Conrad

AAAAAHHHHH it pains me to say this, but I expected more LC.

Anyone who knows me, knows i am a major Lauren Conrad fan, firstly because of the Laguna Beach and Hills drama, but currently because of her fashion sense.  I have eagerly anticipated the launch of her new fashion line, Paper Crown.  That is why it is very hard for me to view the lookbook just hoping the next picture will make me say "YES" but with each click i am dissappointed.

Ok so, yes the clothes are nice, but is it just me or does it all fall a bit flat, i feel like im looking through a Gap catalogue that Ralph Lauren approved.  Nudes, blacks, nudes blacks.  BORED.

I ADORE Lauren and it upsets me that i have to write the words bored in the same blog as her name.  On a positive note, the last look in the online lookbook is gorgeous, and she has truly nailed the full lenght skirt trend and the leather shorts and crop leather jacket are to die for.  Next time, throw in some colour or a print maybe?

Take a look ...click here

PS ....I LOVE LC

Model crush

Every now and then i find a model who I develop a girl crush on, my girl of the moment is Abbey Lee Kershaw.  She is from Australia, 24 and Mario Testino's bestie.  Jealous.

Note to self:  Must copy her hair in bottom picture.

TO DIE FOR

I spend half my life online drooling over clothes I find.  Im gonna post the best ones right here.

Whos that girl?? now give me her clothes

Sonia is going to feature in "whos that girl" a lot, firstly because she owns half of Topshop, secondly because she could wear a binliner and make it look hot, but mainly cause I love her and her wardobe.
Dress: H&M
Shoes: Primark
Necklace: Accessorize

I have some seriously hot friends with some seriously amazing wardrobes.  It would be a crime not to pay attention.  Every week im going to pick one out and make her blush.  What better way to start that with Kim,  pulling off the peek-a-boo trend amazingly.
Dress- Topshop

Ive got nothing to wear, but ive got a new Nail Polish!

On a regular basis, I feel quite down when i have nothing new to wear out, I might have 100 outfits in my wardbrobe but some days i just HATE IT ALL (im not dramatic, honest).  I also have insufficient funds on a regular basis, so whats a girl to do?  Get a new nail colour. OBV.

I love nail polish, a new colour can revive a whole outfit for me. I have spent a lot of my life experiementing with nails, heres some trends im crazy about.

  • Multi colour mix and match.
  • Pop art graphics
And the latest thing im going to try tonight, newspaper nails, as found on Trashy Fashion blog by Emily Devine.  Go see. http://trashfashiononline.blogspot.com/2011/04/project-diy-newspaper-nails.html

Boyfriend bought me a gromophone and teapot

These are two of my favourite pieces of jewellery, both from Urban Outiftters.

Thanks Colin x

I got love for leggins

I work out in them, I watch movies in them, I go out in them, I dance in them, sometimes, I fall asleep in them.  I have to ask myself, what would i do without leggings?  From my first ever 1980'S minnie mouse neon pink pair to my topshop wet look pair, I never have, and never will, give up on the leggings trend.

Stirrup ones, wet look ones, leather ones, lycra ones, fringed ones, lace ones, patterned ones....shall I go on??  I LOVE LEGGINGS.  I cant understand when girls say they would only wear leggings around the house, with the selection on the high street these days, theres no excuse for squeezing into skinny jeans for a night out during a fat day.  NO EXCUSE.  Get a pair of leggings and look dressed up while feeling comfortable.

Im not saying everyone should live in them like myself, but i just wish everyone would appreciate them as much as i do.

Leggings DO's and DONT's!!
  • DONT wear ordinary cotton leggings on a night out, these are called house leggings, learn the difference.
  • DO make sure your leggings are thick enough and big enough that your bum has not stretched them into transparent form, no one wants to see your bare ass in the middle of tescos.
  • DO realise its ok to wear leggings out, just make sure they have something different, for example, wet look, pattern, any kind of detail.
  • DO wear leggings with a really high heel and dressy top to dress them up.
  • DONT wear leggings under a dress or skirt unless you are under 15 or over 40.
  • DO make sure your top is appropriate.  It must be baggy and of a certain lenght.
  • DONT wear leggings with an abercrombie/hollister hoodie.  Leggings are not a replacement for jeans, step away from the RA look.
Any finally...
  • DONT underestimate the style power of leggings, worn with the right outfit, they can do wonders.

I died and went to heaven the day i found this site

My very good friend Rachel text me a couple of weeks ago saying "I found a site that is so you, you will love it".  After a quick look, i replied saying "I hate you, why would you show me this if you cant buy online."  So at the risk of passing this annoyance on, I feel a need to share this amazing find.  LF stores.

Based in Los Angeles, LF Stores is my new absolute favourite.  Yes it is extremely annoying to find clothes you adore and not be able to buy them, but putting this aside, the website is still worth everyones time.  The look books are amazing, the trend reports are fantastic and the styling is so current and on the ball.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO TAKE A LOOK

You may thank me for this at any time. x

What's Fearne wearing today?

A daily peak into Fearne Cottons wardbrode?? yes please.  Love her or hate her, Fearne Cotton has some amazing, and at times interesting fashion sense.  Personally I love her, and I really love Radio One for coming up with the idea of taking a photo of her (almost) every day and posting it on their "what's Fearne wearing today?" page.

I LOVE how she has barely any make up (if any) on in each photo and pulls the same pose in them all, hands on hips, arms pushed forward.  My two faves this season are 11.04.11, skinnies and band t shirt- typical cotton and 20.04.11 mid lenght black dress.

You can go back to her autumn/ winter days or stay up to date with her spring wardrobe.  This whole obsession of mine to check this page once a week may be a bit stalkerish (its a word) but why not? This girl can do no wrong.
